I'm Alasdair and I present 54 Degrees North, as well as producing the Off The Beaten Track and more recently The Wining Pom podcasts.

54 Degrees North started life as AycliffePodcast and was a buddycast where me and Chris chew the fat on anything and everything. Now it's mainly me because he went off and got a proper job but I do wish him well. No seriously, I know people always say that but he did get a gig he would have been mad to turn down.

Off the Beaten Track is all about the hard to find places that visitors tend to miss. You may not find them in a guide book but all of them have a tale to tell. History, art, music, museums, castles, you name it we'll cover it with our trusty video camera.

The Wining Pom got it's name when a friend from north Sydney called me a whinging pom. We were in a bar both drinking wine at the time. I lifted my glass and said I wasn't moaning about anything so I must be a Wining Pom. It's kind of stuck ever since, so I thought if I'm taking the adventurous journey into wine I may as well share what I find. Oh, and by the way, we'll only be looking at reasonably priced wine, so you can join in as well.
